The Wisconsin football staff and coach Luke Fickell has had their fair share of recruiting ups and downs during this off-season.
As Wisconsin continues to add to their solid 2024 recruiting class, some major changes have been made recently. Three-star recruits Vernon Woodward and Robert Booker each left the Wisconsin recruiting class to go elsewhere. Woodward shockingly flipped to Illinois while Booker committed to UCLA a day after announcing he would re-open his recruitment. While each recruit may have left the class and dealt a blow to the Badgers, the Wisconsin football staff has been prepared for this event.
Wisconsin Football Staff Pushing For More 2024, 2025 Recruits After Recent Departures
Currently, the Wisconsin Badgers football team hold the 21st ranked recruiting class during the 2024 cycle. While it is still very early, they also have the 31st ranked recruiting class in the 2025 cycle with their lone commitment from Landyn Locke. The Badgers are continuing to chip away at the 2025 class with multiple recruits scheduled to visit campus in the near future. As for the 2024 class, the Wisconsin football team is still far from finished with what they started.
In the 2024 recruiting cycle, the Wisconsin football staff is currently waiting on four recruits scheduled to announce their commitments. Lloyd Irvin, Omilio Agard, Koy Beasley, and Dominic Kirks will all announce their commitments in the coming days. Wisconsin is in great standing with each player and has a great chance to land them. Particularly, Agard and Beasley seem to be the closest to the Wisconsin staff at the time which could influence their decision.
Wisconsin has also looked into the idea of adding more preferred walk-ons to the program after a successful group in the 2023 class. Wisconsin Gatorade Player Of The Year, Wynn Stang, joined the Badgers as a preferred walk-on running back. Now, the Badgers are pushing for 2024 quarterback Milos Spasojevic among others for their remaining slots.
Ultimately, the group of recruits announcing their commitments in the next couple of days will be crucial for the Badgers. If the team is unable to land any of the recruits, the focus of the staff will likely shift. A big commitment could be a huge boost to the Badgers at this moment.
