It’s do or die for the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. For a second game in a row, the Bucks are facing elimination from the playoffs against the Indiana Pacers. They did an admirable job of saving their season with a blowout win in Game 5, but it goes without saying that Game 6 in Indiana on Thursday is going to be so much different.
The already herculean task of defeating Tyrese Haliburton and Co. on their own home floor is going to be even more difficult if both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are unable to recover from their injuries. At this point, we all want to know: Are Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard playing in Game 6 vs. the Pacers?
Milwaukee Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard Could Sit Out Again
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they might need to battle it out on Thursday without their two best players — again. This is after the Bucks listed both Giannis and Lillard as doubtful to play in Game 6.
Antetokounmpo, who hasn’t played all series long, is still dealing with a nagging calf injury. Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has been consistent about Giannis getting closer and closer, but apparently, he still isn’t close enough.
Lillard, on the other hand, was forced to miss Game 5 after suffering an Achilles injury in Game 4. Like Giannis, he was doubtful to play heading into Game 5. Both superstars ended up sitting out Tuesday’s massive win.
The Bucks are likely to provide a final update on the status of their two best players as we approach tip-off. Until then, Milwaukee fans will have no other choice but to hope and pray.
So, with regard to the question of are Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard playing in Game 6 vs. the Pacers, the answer remains up in the air at this point.
