After a wild start to a busy recruiting month of June, the Wisconsin football team had multiple impressive visits this past weekend.
Dominic Kirks, a 2024 three-star defensive lineman, had scheduled three official visits before mulling over an offer from defensive coordinator Mike Tressel. Kirks felt he needed time to think over whether or not he wanted to visit Madison and meet with the Wisconsin football staff. After speaking with his family, Kirks accepted Tressel’s offer and cancelled his official visit to Kentucky to make time for Madison.
Wisconsin Badgers Luring 2024 Three-Star Away From Top Programs
Coming in at 6-foot-5-inches, 250-pounds, Kirks is an exceptionally sized defensive lineman who plays physically. The talented recruit is currently ranked as the 16th overall recruit in Ohio and the 49th defensive lineman in the class. Kirks is also the 498th overall recruit on the National rankings list.
Kirks has 17 total scholarship offers at this time, with his interest mainly lying in Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, and Washington. The defensive lineman set his official visit with Pittsburgh first for June 1-3. During his visit, the Wisconsin football defensive coordinator Mike Tressel reached out to Kirks about potentially visiting Madison. At the time, Kirks had an official visit scheduled with Kentucky for June 9-11. However, after consulting his family, Kirks announced via Twitter that he would no longer attend his official visit with Kentucky.

Four days later, Kirks posted a photo on Twitter of his hotel room in Madison after agreeing to visit the Wisconsin Badgers Football facility and campus. Kirks appeared to love his visit, and also had the chance to meet Wisconsin football hard commitment Raphael Dunn. Shortly after the visit, Dunn announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers, and Kirks was quick to support his new friend on social media.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Aiming To Land Another Defensive Lineman In the 2024 Recruiting Class
With the interest that Kirks seems to have in the Wisconsin Football program, the Badgers might be close to another big commitment. Wisconsin is looking for another defensive lineman, safety, and outside linebacker to fill up their 2024 defensive class. Given his size and versatility as a defender, Kirks could be an excellent option for the Badgers due to his scheme fit.
Coach Luke Fickell is interested in players who have the ability to play multiple positions and fill multiple roles. Kirks has the potential to do just that since he is comfortable with stopping the run or stopping the quarterback. Fickell and the Wisconsin Football staff should be all over this recruit in the coming days.
