The Wisconsin Badgers will be looking in the transfer portal and one of the names to watch is North Carolina Tar Heels guard Seth Trimble. His name has been in the portal for a while and he has not signed anywhere yet. Trimble is from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and it is possible he could return to his home state and play for the Badgers.
Trimble played in 35 games last season as a sophomore for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He averaged 5.2 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 0.9 APG, 0.2 BPG, and 0.4 SPG. Seth Trimble also shot 47.0% from the field and also shot 41.9% from three-point land.
He averaged 17.1 minutes per game last season with North Carolina and would hope to get more minutes with a different program next season. Trimble is 6’3″ and weighs 195 lbs. It also remains to be seen if he will go back to North Carolina next season and maybe withdraw his name from the transfer portal.
A season ago with the Tar Heels, they went to the Sweet 16 as a number one seed before they lost to the four-seed Alabama Crimson Tide. Trimble told the dailytarheel.com by saying:
“You know, we really became Carolina basketball again. We set the standard for these next couple of years. It’s sad this group will never get to play again.”
He did help the Tar Heels get back to the NCAA Tournament after missing it in 2022-2023.
Seth Trimble Would Get Minutes Next Season With the Wisconsin Badgers Because Of the Transfers Leaving the Program
The Badgers have had a few players leave their program this offseason and are looking for replacements for next season. With A.J. Storr, Connor Essegian, and Chucky Hepburn all not with the team anymore, they need some more help at guard. Incoming freshman Daniel Freitag could be the starting point guard for the Badgers program next season and could be a lethal scorer.
However, it is possible that Wisconsin does not land any transfers to the program and a lot of fans would blame head coach Greg Gard for not landing an in-state player like Seth Trimble. Trimble would be a good fit for the program because he can start for Wisconsin next season.
He did play over 10 minutes per game for the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA Tournament and also stepped up when he needed to. Seth Trimble also has other interests from other programs other than the Badgers, but this is a potential Chucky Hepburn replacement for next season in Madison, Wisconsin.
