No one expected a playoff series between the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers to reach Game 6, especially after the All-Star duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard went down with their respective injuries. And with the NBA clarifying when the second round will start, the winner of this showdown will face an uphill battle
In the most recent game between Indiana and the Bucks, the latter took the 115-92 win over the former. Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis showed up put on an impressive performance as each player made 29 points in around 39 minutes on the court. Malik Beasley and Patrick Beverley took care of Milwaukee’s backcourt as the pair combined for 31 points, with the latter dishing 12 assists along the way.
The Pacers, meanwhile, had a terrible performance from its stars. Tyrese Haliburton only scored 16 points in almost 34 minutes of action. The trio of Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, and Obi Toppin each scored 12 points, while Myles Turner tallied 13 points and five rebounds.
The victory helped extend Milwaukee’s season, even without Lillard and Antetokounmpo in the lineup. It also showcased other stars stepping up, such as Middleton’s scoring prowess or Beverley outplaying Haliburton all throughout the game. In any case, this series is heating up as the stakes for both teams are clearly laid down on the line.
NBA Clarifies Milwaukee Bucks’ Schedule Amid Close Battle Against Indiana Pacers
As this series is going on, fans wondered what will happen to the second round if the Bucks-Pacers series went to a deciding Game 7. In a tweet by Tim Bontemps, the NBA clarified what will happen if such an event occurred.
“The NBA has announced that, no matter what, the winners of Knicks-Sixers and Pacers-Bucks will begin their series Monday night, no matter what happens in their respective Game 6s,” Bontemps tweeted.
This clarification helps shed light on what will happen if the Bucks extend the series to seven games and eventually wins it. Unfortunately, there won’t be enough time to rest if that happens.
Even if that’s the case, winning this series against the Pacers is all that matters. While the time may be limited for the following round, getting the dub will change the narrative for this Bucks team.
