The Green Bay Packers took the practice field for the first time this week and the injury report was stacked on both sides of the ball. A total of 14 players were listed for the Packers and at least 8 of them are starters.
Running Back AJ Dillon Did Not Practice Wednesday for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Jones Returned in a Limited Fashion
AJ Dillon, who has taken a heavy workload these past three games due to Aaron Jones being on the sidelines with a sprained MCL, did not practice Wednesday with a thumb injury. He has made the most of his starting role with Jones ruled out, turning 53 touches into 246 scrimmage yards in the past three games.
He was dealing with a groin injury last week that kept him limited in practice, but his thumb injury was not recently reported and will be monitored up until Sunday’s game.
While Dillon wasn’t able to practice Wednesday, Aaron Jones returned to the field in a limited fashion after being ruled out for Monday night’s game versus the New York Giants. He practiced all last week leading up to the contest, but wasn’t comfortable enough to suit up. If Dillon’s thumb injury is more serious than anticipated, the Packers may have to rely on Jones even if he isn’t one hundred percent.
Christian Watson (hamstring) listed as DNP in practice Wednesday.

Christian Watson also did not practice Wednesday due to the hamstring injury he re-aggravated against the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago. He missed the first three games of the season due to the same hamstring injury.
Watson was just starting to build his chemistry with his new quarterback in Jordan Love. He had his best game versus the Chiefs, grabbing 7 of his 9 targets for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns before going down with the injury.
While Watson has not been ruled out for Sunday’s contest yet, his chances at a return are looking slimmer each day he doesn’t log a practice. Rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks also did not participate in practice after suffering an ankle injury versus the Giants on Monday and looks to be a high-ankle sprain.
Jayden Reed, who had a solid outing on Monday night with Watson on the bench, practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday. Reed was being evaluated for a concussion after the game on Monday, but is placed on the injury report with an ankle injury. While a concussion is most likely ruled out of the question, his ankle will continue to be monitored.
Green Bay Packers Secondary Add Four Players to Wednesday Injury Report
Darnell Savage, who just came off injury reserve two weeks ago after suffering a calf injury in week five, was not seen at practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury. Savage was questionable for Monday’s game in East Rutherford with a chest injury, but was active for the contest and led the team in tackles. Savage will continue to be monitored throughout the practice week.
Jaire Alexander returned to practice in a limited fashion after being ruled out for Monday’s contest with a shoulder injury. Alexander has missed the last few games and is expected to be back as soon as this week.
Keisean Nixon and Jonathan Owens were also limited in practice Wednesday. Expect Corey Ballentine to be afforded extra snaps if anyone in the secondary is ruled out for Sunday’s game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
