One of the key plays in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs was Keisean Nixon intercepting a pass from Patrick Mahomes. After the game, Nixon revealed that he knew what play was coming based on a tell that he had learned while watching the film during the week. Mahomes refuted the claim that he has a tell.
Regarding this .. Mahomes said he saw what Nixon said and said that was the first time he made that particular check in his time with the Chiefs. https://t.co/s1MxLDsdud

Patrick Mahomes Refutes Keisean Nixon Claim
Mahomes said that he heard what Nixon said after the game but he doesn’t think that he did any kind of tipping off on the play. He claims that this was the first time that he had used that particular check during his time with the Chiefs. Mahomes is likely in a little bit of damage control mode as he does not want his opponents to figure out his signs. While it makes sense that Mahomes would say this, I think there was something that Nixon knew about the play.
Nixon Read The Play Perfectly
If you watch the play, Nixon clearly jumps the route run by Skyy Moore. It could have been a bad route by the second-year receiver but Nixon had a great read on the play. It resulted in one of the biggest plays in the game. Could it be that Nixon saw the knee slap and then happened to correctly predict the play? It is mathematically possible I guess but the more likely scenario is that Mahomes tipped Nixon off in some way.
Regardless of how it happened, Keisean Nixon made a great play to intercept Patrick Mahomes. It helped the team secure a huge win that has vaulted them into the playoff conversation something that seemed impossible three weeks ago. The Packers head to New York to take on the Giants on Sunday.
