The Milwaukee Bucks will need to address a handful of roster issues this summer. The good news for them is that they can use their first-round pick to do the same.
With the No. 23 overall pick at their disposal, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints believes that the biggest issue that the Bucks will need to address would be their frontcourt shortcomings. This is where a player like Purdue big man Zach Edey could come in handy.
Milwaukee Bucks Land Zach Edey in Latest Mock Draft

Edey made quite a name for himself in the recently-concluded NCAA March Madness tournament where unfortunately, the Boilermakers settled for a second-place finish after losing the championship game to UConn. Edey, however, did enough to improve his stock for the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft. So much so, that the Bucks are now being urged to use their No. 23 pick on the 7-foot-4 center.
According to Siegel, the addition of Edey should help fill the void Brook Lopez leaves whenever he heads to the bench:
“Bobby Portis has been great for the Bucks, but this team really needs another true center who can be effective on defense when Lopez isn’t in the game. Edey is the player who makes a ton of sense in this position,” Siegel wrote.
Zach Edey Is Ready Now

Siegel then goes on to point out that the Bucks have positioned themselves to win now. This leaves them with little time and room to develop young players. This is another factor that makes Edey an excellent potential first-round draftee for Milwaukee:
“Whereas other centers like Kel’El Ware and Yves Missi would be players the Bucks would need to spend time developing further, Edey is ready to play and win right now. Next to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Lopez, Edey would become a much stronger interior presence than he already is,” Siegel wrote.
