It’s safe to say that Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley has seen his fair share of controversies and antics in the entire time he played in the NBA. The thing is, European sports fans are way wilder as he revealed how rowdy they can become in a basketball game.
Before he declared for the NBA Draft, Beverley played one season in 2008 with BC Dinipro, a Ukrainian Basketball League team. During that period, the fiery guard won the league’s slam dunk contest and averaged 16.7 points, seven rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 46 games.

Although he was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers using the 42nd pick in the 2009 Draft, Beverley was traded to the Miami Heat and got cut from the roster shortly after. This led him to play in Greece for Olympiacos Pireaus during the 2009-10 season, and the Spartak St. Petersburg in Russia the following year.
In his one-year stint for Olympiacos, the Bucks’ controversial guard averaged 5.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in the Greek Basket League. His two-year run in Russia resulted in a EuroCup MVP for the 2011-12 season while averaging 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Later on, Beverley was given an NBA contract by the Houston Rockets, marking the official start of his career in the league.
Milwaukee Bucks Guard Patrick Beverley Reveals How Insane European Sports Fans Can Get

While most fans are familiar with Beverley for being confrontational on and off the court, his pre-NBA career in Greece and Russia isn’t that well-known. The Bucks’ star shed light on his experience, particularly with the fans, in a video clip shared by Pat Bev Pod on X.

Fortunately, Beverley hasn’t experienced that kind of treatment from fans watching his games throughout the years. Over the course of his 12-year year run in the NBA, the veteran played for the Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Bucks with averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

For sure, fans watching NBA games don’t hold a candle to those in Europe. And if Beverley is to be believed, they’re levels above when it comes to rowdiness and passion.
