After Ka’imi Fairbairn made a 35-yard field goal to put the Houston Texans up 22-21 against the Green Bay Packers, the Packers had plenty of time remaining in regulation to get a game-winning drive going.
Jordan Love was only working with one timeout with less than two minutes in regulation. He led Green Bay into field goal range. Brandon McManus drilled the game-winning 45-yard field goal as time expired to help the Packers defeat the Texans 24-22.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Is Praised By Head Coach Matt LaFleur
After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur had some praise for the Packers franchise quarterback for leading them down the field to win the game in the fourth quarter. LaFleur said to Ryan Wood after the game:
“That’s his superpower. No matter what’s happened, whether good or bad, he continues to fight and be resilient. The moment is never too big for him.”
This is what the Packers want to see in their star quarterback when the game is on the line. Green Bay never feels like they are out of a game because of how special Jordan Love has become for this football team. The Packers improve to 5-2 on the season and the Texans drop to 5-2.
Stats
During the game against the Houston Texans, Love completed 24-of-33 passes for 220 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Love is still making some bone-headed decisions with the football like Brett Favre used to do, but he is willing to take risks.
Love threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Dontayvion Wicks in the second quarter. He also threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Josh Jacobs in the third quarter. Love continues to make clutch play after clutch play for this football team. They will face the 2-5 Jacksonville Jaguars next weekend also.
