The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Northwestern Wildcats on the road 23-3 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Badgers improved to 5-2 overall on the season and they are now 3-1 in BIG10 Conference play this season.
Some people thought that there was a chance that the Badgers could be ranked entering the matchup this weekend at home against the #3 Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State was off last weekend and they dropped from two to three in the AP Poll.
Wisconsin Badgers Not Ranked Entering the Penn State Nittany Lions Matchup
With the way Wisconsin has looked over the last three weeks, it appeared as if they could be a Top 25 team entering the matchup against Penn State. Instead, the Badgers are not ranked entering the matchup this weekend against the Nittany Lions.
If they were to pull off the upset this weekend, there is a great chance that Wisconsin could enter the Top 25. They did not receive a single vote for the Top 25 entering another week of the college football season. The game will be on Saturday night with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on NBC.
Vanderbilt Commodores Ranked #25
Instead of the Wisconsin Badgers being ranked in the Top 25 this week, the Vanderbilt Commodores are the #25 ranked team in the country ahead of the week’s matchup against the #5 Texas Longhorns. Vanderbilt is 5-2 this season and there is a chance they could stay in the Top 25 or fall out of it.
The Commodores have been one of the biggest stories in college football this season. As for the Wisconsin Badgers, they will have to earn other’s respect this week if they are going to land in the Top 25 before the end of the 2024 college football season.
