The Milwaukee Brewers are looking forward to the 2025 season. Milwaukee will need to find a way to improve the team. Even though they went 93-69 this season and won the National League Central Division Title for the second consecutive season, they lost in the National League Wild Card Round once again to the New York Mets.
One of the biggest issues with the Milwaukee Brewers a season ago was the starting pitching. One name to potentially watch for this offseason for Milwaukee is starting pitcher Michael Wacha.
Milwaukee Brewers Could Sign Michael Wacha This Offseason To Improve the Starting Rotation
Last season, Michael Wacha pitched with the Kansas City Royals. He pitched in 28 games last season with Kansas City. Wacha had a 13-8 record with a 3.35 ERA with the Royals last season. He also pitched in 166.2 innings and also gave up 154 hits and 65 runs. Michael Wacha also walked 45 batters and struck out 145 batters.
According to Spotrac’s Michael Ginnitti, he thinks that Wacha will be worth a three-year deal for $60 million. However, Wacha has a $16 million player option for next season, but he could very well decline it and enter the free-agent market.
Traded Corbin Burnes Last Offseason
Last offseason, the Brewers traded starting pitcher Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles. It put the Brewers in a hole in the rotation for this season. Freddy Peralta and Frankie Montas were the top two pitchers in the rotation this season.
However, it was not a strong starting rotation last season for manager Pat Murphy. The offense carried the team last season. If the Milwaukee Brewers want to take this to another level, going after Michael Wacha would be a good start for them and they would need to also add more starting pitching.
