The Milwaukee Brewers promoted rookie Blake Perkins to the Major Leagues in wake of outfielder Garrett Mitchell sustaining a serious shoulder injury. Perkins debuted in Seattle on Wednesday as a pinch runner and got his first career start in right field Saturday night against the Boston Red Sox. In the fifth inning he ended up collecting his first hit!

The Milwaukee Brewers signed Blake Perkins to a Major League contract during the offseason. He previously played in the New York Yankees organization but had never appeared in a big league game. He is now starting to collect some big league firsts and his teammates are making sure he enjoys it. This includes getting a Gatorade bath post game.

Blake Perkins is currently with the Milwaukee Brewers due to injury. It’s unclear how long he will be up in the big leagues for, but a lot of it likely rides on the health and recovery of other outfielders. Currently, Tyrone Taylor is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab stint and Sal Frelick, once healthy, is a favorite to get promoted to the big leagues. For now he will be looking to make the most of this opportunity!
