The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays had a good old fashion pitchers dual going on Monday night.  Tampa Bay ended up winning the contest 1-0 and there was not a single RBI recorded that night as the only run scored came on a double play ball.  In the ninth inning Milwaukee appeared to tie the game on a strikeout plus wild pitch play, but the umpires ruled the ball dead, no run scored, and the Rays ended up holding on for the win. The Milwaukee Brewers have been involved in back-to-back games with umpiring controversy.  Against the New York Yankees a blatant interference from Aaron Judge was missed live and later deemed not legal.  A day later, against the Tampa Bay Rays, an out was called after a swinging strike three went to the backstop (first base open) and the tying run was also sent back to third base due to contact being made between the hitter and catcher. The Milwaukee Brewers have lost a few valuable members over the last calendar year who were previously in their organization.  Manager Craig Counsell joined the division rival Chicago Cubs, Corbin Burnes was traded to the Baltimore Orioles, and Adrian Houser was dealt to the New York Mets. The Milwaukee Brewers are entering a Sunday series finale against the New York Yankees on April 28 with a record of 17-9.  They have lost just one series throughout the first month of the season and have a league leading 12 wins away from American Family Field.  They have managed to do this despite numerous injuries to key players. Milwaukee Brewers sophomore Brice Turang is off to a tremendous start.  The elite defending second baseman made a mark with his glove last year while also stealing 26 bases.  Unfortunately he only got on base at a .285 percent clip and he did not contribute as well as he would have liked offensively.  This year things are looking much different. Milwaukee Brewers infielder Joey Ortiz had a career night on Friday against the New York Yankees.  In the second inning he belted his first big league home run and then in the eleventh inning he ended the game with a walk-off single.  He entered that game in a 1-18 slump at the plate but now should have a ton of confidence.
