The Green Bay Packers made an effort in the 2024 NFL Draft to address two major areas of concern. The defense and offensive line accounted for all but two of their 11 draft picks. That’s right, 9 of their 11 2024 NFL Draft picks were either offensive linemen or a defensive position.
However, one of their offensive draft picks has created a ton of excitement for what the ground game could be. Running back MarShawn Lloyd was selected in the third round. From the looks of it, he is already turning heads at the Packers’ facility.
Green Bay Packers Running Back MarShawn Lloyd Is Already Turning Heads On Practice Field

On Friday the Packers’ rookies suited up and took the field in Green Bay. For MarShawn Lloyd, all it took was one four-second clip to get fans excited about his explosiveness:
That burst is real evident already

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said USC running back MarShawn Lloyd was the best running back in the draft when they selected him with a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Lloyd Will Have An Opportunity To Carve Out A Significant Role With The Packers

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy agreed that Lloyd was the best back in the 2024 NFL Draft:
“I thought he was the best back in the draft,” Nagy told Packer Central this week in an interview regarding the NFL-high nine Senior Bowl players the Packers drafted.
“This was going back to really the beginning of the season. When we started watching the USC stuff, it was pretty clear to me. He had a couple of monster games against lesser opponents, but some of the stuff you saw – making people miss, running through contact, the juice at the second level to pull away from people – he’s got it all.”
It is likely the Packers’ top three backs going into week one will be Josh Jacobs, AJ Dillon, and MarShawn Lloyd. Dillon is returning on a one year deal and is very much in a “prove it”year. If Lloyd can prove his worth early on, that might phase Dillon out of the offense earlier than expected.
