The Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees wrapped up a three game weekend series on Sunday, April 28. Milwaukee won the first game in extra innings and then New York blew out the Brewers in the second and third games. Their final contest had some drama as a blatant missed call eventually led to a seven run inning for the Yankees.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers made his second career start.

Tobias Myers, who during his MLB debut gave up a home run on his first big league pitch, was overall solid again for the Brew Crew in this contest. Similar to his last outing all the damage done against him came via the home run ball. Against the Pirates he gave up a solo home run to Andrew McCutchen and that was it. Versus the New York Yankees it was Aaron Judge and Anthony Volpe who took him deep and accounted for four runs. The Yankees acknowledged that Myers was throwing a lot of pitches for strikes and were aggressive against him the second time through the order.
Through five inning the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees were tied at four runs a piece.

New York was the first on the board in this game with Judge’s solo home run coming in the first inning. Volpe’s three run blast was later hit in the top of the fifth. During the bottom of that inning Milwaukee battled back and tied the game up via a Willy Adames RBI double and Jake Bauers three run home run.
New York Yankees star Aaron Judge blatantly interfered with a double play ball that eventually led to a seven run inning.

With Abner Uribe on the mound in the sixth inning and the game tied Yankees star Aaron Judge led the inning off with a walk. Uribe then generated a routine double play ball but Judge extended his hand up during his slide and batted the baseball out of the air. The umpires got together for discussion and determined that no interference occurred. This play was not re-viewable.

Due to this play the inning was extended for the Yankees and they took full advantage of it. Instead of Uribe facing three hitters and moving on he ended up surrendering the lead, being pulled from the game, and his replacement Elvis Pegeruo struggled as well. In total seven Yankees crossed home plate and the game was blown wide open.
Following the game the umpire Andy Fletcher revealed that they missed the call on Aaron Judge sliding into second base. Fletcher said it should have been called interference because it wasn’t a natural part of his slide. Unfortunately what’s done is done and the Brewers lost their second series of the year as a result.
Up next Milwaukee will take on the Tampa Bay Rays at home. The Rays are 13-16 and were just swept by the Chicago White Sox.
