The Milwaukee Brewers, like almost every season, are not the unanimous choice to win the National League Central Division.  Heading into 2024 the St. Louis Cardinals have improved, the Cincinnati Reds have added some new pieces around their talented young players, and most recently the Chicago Cubs have made a significant addition by re-uniting with a player who finished 10th in MVP voting a season ago. Cody Bellinger has re-signed with the Chicago Cubs.   This off-season Scott Boras has remained patient with a lot of his clients.  Cody Bellinger is one of those players and he is coming off of…

The Milwaukee Brewers and Gary Sanchez have officially agreed to terms regarding a contract for the 2024 season, but it took nearly two weeks for the sides to come together after having to re-negotiate.  An issue during Sanchez’s physical was the hold up and it was related to the same right hand/wrist that caused his 2023 season to end prematurely. Gary Sanchez fractured his wrist last September with the San Diego Padres.  A 98 MPH fastball to the wrist in September of 2023 resulted in a fracture for Gary Sanchez.  This caused his season to end early.  Despite this history…

The Milwaukee Brewers have brought the currently injured Brandon Woodruff back on a guaranteed two year, $17.5 million deal.  There is a mutual option for a third year that would increase the contracts total value to 27.5 million and his deal also features a full no-trade clause.  This appears to be a win-win for both sides as Woodruff gets financial security while rehabbing back from shoulder surgery and Milwaukee gets to retain a homegrown ace for a reasonable price. Brandon Woodruff indicated that he nearly signed with another team. After the deal was made official Brandon Woodruff was made…

Milwaukee Brewers, Brewers News, Brandon Woodruff

The Milwaukee Brewers made the extremely difficult decision last November to non-tender starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff.  Woodruff just recently turned 31 years old but underwent shoulder surgery earlier this winter that may cause him to miss most or all of the 2024 season.  2024 also just so happened to originally be his final year of team control, so Milwaukee elected to cut ties with him rather than pay him an estimated $11.6 million. Brandon Woodruff has agreed to a back loaded deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.   Woodruff’s new contract with the Brewers will span a minimum of two years,…
