Milwaukee Brewers spring training is underway and one major story line has been Sal Frelick experimenting as an infielder. He trained with Boston Red Sox legend Dustin Pedroia this off-season and was essentially labeled as “ready” by the four time gold glove award winner.
Through Brewers media personnel and reporters we have seen glimpses of how Frelick looks playing both second and third base. Some videos have provided a ton of hope that he will make it as an infielder, but he also has not been seen in game action yet.
When will Sal Frelick make his infield debut? Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed his debut date.
Per Pat Murphy we will not have to wait long to see Sal Frelick play the infield. The Brewers first spring training game is Saturday, February 24 against the San Diego Padres and Frelick will play in the dirt that game. It’s unclear how many innings he will get, but hopefully this will give us a better understanding of how he looks in game situations.
Unfortunately the Brewers first spring training game on February 24 will not be televised. Fans will have the ability to watch eight games on television this spring. The full TV schedule can be found by clicking here.
