Craig Counsell managed his first game with the Chicago Cubs on Friday, February 23 as he defeated the Chicago White Sox by a score of 8-1. Even though this was a spring training game it did mark the first time that he had managed a game for an organization not named the Milwaukee Brewers. During the broadcast Counsell made a comment that may not sit well with Brewers fans.

Milwaukee Brewers fans react to the comments that Craig Counsell made.
Craig Counsell will be reminded he is in a different place this October when he sits home doing nothing while the Brewers are in the playoffs again.

Craig Counsell has now overtaken Ken Macha as my least favorite Brewer manager of all time.

Was Craig Counsell taking a jab at the Brewers attendance?
The words “big crowd on day one, so you know you’re in a different place” may come across as a jab on the Brewers attendance, but more than likely it is referencing to the buzz in the stadium at that given time. Whenever a person of significance, like manager Craig Counsell, switches organizations it’s natural for crowds to be bigger. This will hold true when the Brewers and Cubs meet during the regular season as well.
