The Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners have shared a lot of players with each other over recent years. Two more players can now be added to that list as a position player and a pitcher have joined the organization. Both were free agents and signed minor league contracts with the Mariners.
Brian Anderson and Trevor Kelley have signed with the Seattle Mariners.
Per Ryan Divish of the Seattle times infielder/outfielder Brian Anderson and relief pitcher Trevor Kelley have signed minor league deals with the Mariners. According to Jon Heyman Anderson will make a $2 million salary if he makes the team. Kelley has pitched for four prior big league teams without much success.
How did Brian Anderson perform with the Milwaukee Brewers?
Early on in 2023 Brian Anderson was a key piece in the Brewers lineup. He started in right field on opening day but then shifted to third base after Luis Urias injured his hamstring. In the month of April he collected 20 RBI, but then struggled the remainder of the year and missed substantial time with a back injury. The Brewers then released him in October.
How did Trevor Kelley perform with the Milwaukee Brewers?
Trevor Kelley was a member of the Brewers in 2022. He appeared in 18 games, threw 23.2 innings, and had a 6.08 ERA. The 31 year old has struggled over 50.2 career big league innings as he has a career 6.75 ERA.
