Milwaukee Brewers rookie and top prospect Jackson Chourio has started his big league career off strong. The 20 year old has hits in 11 out of his first 13 games which does include three home runs. His latest performance against the San Diego Padres was a 2-4 night with a walk, one stolen base, and a two run homer.
Jackson Chourio joins two others in the history books as the youngest players with three home runs in their first 13 games.
After Chourio’s third home run of the season Sarah Langs reported that just two other players have had three home runs through 13 games at a younger age. Those players were Andruw Jones in 1996 and Lou Klimchock from 1958-59. Both Jones and Klimchock were 19 years old at the time.
at 20 years & 35 days old, Jackson Chourio is the 3rd-youngest player since 1900 with at least 3 HR in his first 13 career games, older than only:
1996 Andruw Jones: 19y, 130d (4 HR thru 13g)
1958-59 Lou Klimchock: 19y, 340d https://t.co/4gjC7fSAfh— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) April 16, 2024
Milwaukee Brewers: Jackson Chourio became the youngest player since Bryce Harper to hit a home run and steal a base in the same game.
Along with hitting a long ball Jackson Chourio also stole a base Monday night against the Padres. Per Baseball Reference Chourio is the youngest player since Bryce Harper in 2012 to have a home run and a stolen base in the game. Other players to do this at a young age have been Jose Reyes in 2003, Andruw Jones in 1996, Alex Rodriguez in 1995, Ken Griffey Jr in 1989, Robin Yount in 1975, Al Kaline in 1954, and Mickey Mantle in 1951.
Jackson Chourio and Jackson Merrill joined three other duos in the history books with multiple hits and RBI in the same game.
In this game 20 year old San Diego Padre Jackson Merrill was also playing. Both Chourio and Merrill collected multiple hits and multiple RBI. Per Sarah Langs just three other duos have accomplished this since 1920.
Jackson Chourio and Jackson Merrill are the 4th pair of 20-year-olds each with multiple hits + multiple RBI in the same game [rbi official since 1920], joining:
8/21/65 Tony Conigliaro + Tony Horton (both BOS)
5/18/59 Vada Pinson (CIN) + Ron Fairly (LAD)
7/16/55 Harmon Killebrew…— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) April 16, 2024
