Milwaukee Brewers Catcher William Contreras Homers Off Of Baltimore Orioles Starting Pitcher Corbin Burnes
Contreras was batting leadoff for the Brewers on Sunday afternoon against the Orioles. He was the designated hitter because Gary Sanchez started at catcher for Milwaukee on Sunday. In the first inning, William Contreras homered off of former Brewers teammate Corbin Burnes. It was his fourth home run of the season and he has been very good throughout the first two weeks of the season for the Milwaukee Brewers.
It was also his 15th RBI of the season and he is making a case early on this season to be the starting catcher for the National League in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game. He also stole a base in the second inning. This was also Burnes’s first start against his former team after being traded to Baltimore in the offseason.
Colton Cowser Off To a Hot Start For Baltimore
Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser is off to a hot start in 2024. On Sunday in the eighth inning against the Brewers, he hit a solo home run off Hoby Milner. It was his fourth home run of the season and also has 13 RBIs. He is also very hard to get out right now because he is batting over .400 to start the season.
Colton Cowser is only a rookie for the Baltimore Orioles and the Milwaukee Brewers only slowed him down for so long this weekend. Other MLB teams will find out that he is the real deal.
Jackson Holliday Finally Gets His First MLB Hit
Jackson Holliday went 0-for-12 before finally getting his first MLB hit on Sunday against the Brewers. He went 1-for-4 in the game and hopefully, that first hit will get Holliday going. He is a very young prospect just like outfielder Jackson Chourio is.
The expectations that both fanbases have for each player are so high. However, the fanbases of each team have to realize that they are going to have their rough patches. When they both get going, they will be talked about across the MLB. Holliday was the number one prospect in all of baseball and Chourio was the number two prospect in all of baseball.
