The Milwaukee Brewers are being an active team in the waiver wire early on this season. Previously they added Vladimir Gutierrrez via a successful waiver claim. Now they have added another pitcher through the same manor.
Milwaukee Brewers claim a former second round draft pick off waivers.

The newest member of the Brewers is right-hander Corbin Martin. He was a second round draft pick in 2017 by the Houston Astros and was involved in a blockbuster trade in 2019 involving Zack Greinke. The former Texas A&M product generated some top 100 prospect buzz upon being drafted but after a few injuries and years of under performing his stock significantly decreased.
Corbin Martin has been optioned to Triple-A.

After being claimed Martin was subsequently optioned to Triple-A Nashville. He was previously let go by the Arizona Diamondbacks after allowing three earned runs in as many innings in their farm system. The last time Martin pitched in the big leagues was 2022.
J.B. Bukauskas and Corbin Martin were both involved in the 2019 trade involving Zack Greinke.

Backing up to the 2019 Zack Greinke trade that sent him from Arizona to Houston, the Astros gave up Martin, J.B. Bukauskas, Josh Rojas, and Seth Beer in the deal. Bukauskas and Martin were both drafted in 2017 with Bukauskas being the Astros first round pick that year (15th overall). They now will be re-united once again in Milwaukee as Bukauskas was acquired by the Brewers last year.
