Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley couldn’t be any more hyped up after seeing the roster Team USA decided for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In fact, Beverley is convinced it’s the greatest Team USA roster ever assembled, which is a massive praise considering how much the nation adores the 1992 “Dream Team” headlined by Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and many more NBA legends.

On Monday, several reports emerged about Team USA finalizing its roster for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The list is headlined by Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant.
Joel Embiid, who got his American citizenship last September, is also joining the Team USA crew alongside Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, former Buck Jrue Holiday, Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton.
For now, Team USA elected to keep one roster spot open, though Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Kawhi Leonard is the frontrunner to take that spot. Other candidates include Paul George, Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson.
That is definitely a star-studded and well-balanced roster. The team has some of the best scorers in the game, along with capable defenders such as Davis, Adebayo and Holiday. Should they be able to add Leonard or George, it’s going to be tough to beat them even more–regardless of how strong their competition might be.
The talent level on the Team USA roster is insane, so much so that Beverley himself said that it could be the best squad the country has ever assembled.
“Go USA. Probably the greatest team put together,” Beverley wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
While some hoops fans will argue against that, it’s also not hard to see where Beverley is coming from here. James, Curry and Durant have all established themselves as all-time greats and the best in their respective positions. And they you have superstars like Embiid, Davis, Booker, Holiday and Adebayo, as well as rising stars liek Edwards and Haliburton and it’s just hard to see any weakness there.
With that being said, there’s no denying that USA is the team to beat in the Olympics.
Team USA Facing Massive Challenge in 2024 Olympics
Despite having a star-studded team, though, Team USA could still face some big challenge along the way. For those not in the know, the Americans have been grouped along with Serbia and South Sudan.
Serbia, in particular, could be the major threats for Team USA. The Serbians are a well-coached team that even made it all the way to the finals of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
With Nikola Jokic expected to join the group, the NBA champ and two-time MVP could bring some headaches for Team USA.
Regardless, though, Milwaukee Bucks defensive specialist Patrick Beverley will likely have his eyes glued on his TV when Team USA heads to Paris for the Olympics.
