The New York Jets are making moves for Aaron Rodgers
The New York Jets wide receiver room looks drastically different than last season. The makeover might not be complete as the Jets work to finalize a trade with the Green Bay Packers to trade for Aaron Rodgers. The Jets signed former Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard last week. They signed former Kansas City Chiefs standout Mecole Hardman Wednesday.
Not long after signing Hardman, news broke the Jets traded Elijah Moore and the 74th overall pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the 42nd overall pick. The Jets wide receiver corps is stacked with Garrett Wilson, Lazard, and Coleman penciled in as starters. But the Jets coaching staff hasn’t Sharpied anything in as the Jets appear all in with Rodgers at the helm of the offense in 2023.
OBJ to the Jets?
According to a recent report by Jeff Darlington with ESPN, the Jets and Odell Beckham Jr. want to sign a deal for the All-Pro wide receiver to join what will be predicted to be one of the most elite offenses in the NFL next fall.

The signing makes sense considering OBJ and Rodgers’ friendship. Rodgers said last fall on the Pat McAfee Show that the two players are close and would like to play on the same team in the future. Per WSH Media files:
“Odell and I have been friends for a number of years now,” Rodgers said, sporting a Manchester City soccer jersey. (A timely uniform decision with Packers’ upcoming Week 5 game in London.) “We keep in contact often. We often talked at various times over the years, and obviously, with a player like that, you’re always hoping there’s a time when you can figure things out and play together.”
We’ll see if the Jets can make that happen. If they do, Rodgers, once traded, will have one of the best wide receiver rooms he’s ever had. The Jets would be dangerous.
