One of the biggest issues with the Green Bay Packers over the past couple of seasons has been finding consistent field goal-kicking. Through the first six weeks of the 2024 season, Brayden Narveson missed five goals and Green Bay felt like they couldn’t wait for him to figure it out.
The Packers made a shocking move on Tuesday by signing field goal kicker Brandon McManus. He is expected to kick for Green Bay against the Houston Texans this weekend.
Green Bay Packers Fans Not Happy With the Brandon McManus Signing
Many Packers fans were not thrilled with the McManus signing because he was accused of sexual assault when he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. Here is what some of the Green Bay fans had to say on Twitter about it:Signing a criminal, shocker

I’d rather narveson miss every kick than have a creep as a kicker tbh.

Despite the NFL finding no reason to punish him in what was very likely their typical half-ass investigation, Brandon McManus is still very much being sued by two women for sexual assault. There are better options than this if any team is looking for a kicker.

It would be nice if teams would consider the type of person they bring into the community.

Somehow, they made their kicking situation bafflingly worse

Last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he made 81.1% of his field goals. Brandon McManus will be under pressure to perform right away for the Green Bay Packers.
Anders Carlson Was Cut During the Preseason
During training camp, the Green Bay Packers had a kicking competition between Anders Carlson, Greg Joseph, and other kickers. Carlson was cut before the start of the 2024 NFL season.
He only kicked during his rookie season with Green Bay, but his misses in the playoffs led to his downfall. Brandon McManus is a very good field goal kicker, but this is not Packers like to sign someone who has had some off-the-field issues in the past.
