The Green Bay Packers and New York Jets have had an interesting off-season so far. The moment the Packers’ season ended on January 8th, 2023, speculation began regarding the future of Aaron Rodgers. Not long after, rumors regarding the New York Jets being interested in trading for the four-time MVP started to pick up. Once they did, possible trade packages started swirling around the internet about what the Jets could possibly offer for Aaron Rodgers. There was one widely named wide receiver on the Jets roster that many Green Bay Packers fans were interested in. However, that is no longer a possibility.
Green Bay Packers Fans React To Wide Receiver Elijah Moore Traded To The Cleveland Browns
Elijah Moore has himself a new home in the NFL. The New York Jets agreed to trade the third-year wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns, the Browns announced. As for the compensation, New York will receive the No. 42 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft in exchange for Moore while also sending No. 74 overall back to Cleveland.
Moore’s time in New York seemed to be coming to an end. Moore even requested a trade at the deadline last year. He stated that he wasn’t getting the ball enough. Additional details that were released revealed a disgruntled and frustrated young player that had a profane outburst at Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. With two years still on his rookie deal, Elijah Moore will count for less than $2.5 million against the cap in 2023 and still be under contract through the 2024 season. That was a big reason Packers fans wanted Moore in Green Bay.
However, with Elijah Moore’s outburst at Matt LaFleur’s brother, many were skeptical the Packers would ever trade for him. The search for a wide receiver to compliment Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs continues.
