MLB News: Jose Ramirez and Tim Anderson were the talk of baseball on Saturday night as a boxing match between the two sparked the benches to be cleared in the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox game. Following the game Tim Anderson was not available to the media, but Jose Ramirez did provide some comments and he blasted Anderson for disrespecting the game.

Jose Ramirez blasts Tim Anderson for disrespecting the game (MLB News).
When talking to reporters about the game, here is what Jose Ramirez said in regards to his fight with Tim Anderson.
“I think he’s been disrespecting the game for a while. I even had the chance to tell him [earlier] during the game, ‘Don’t do this stuff. That’s disrespectful. Don’t start tagging people like that because, in reality, we’re here trying to find ways to provide for our families.’ And when he does things he does on the bases, he can get somebody out of the game. So I was telling him to stop doing that. After he tapped me really hard, more than needed, he said he wanted to fight and I had to defend myself.”
This was the first career ejection for Jose Ramirez. Later in his interview he elaborated more on just wanting to play the game and not disrespect it.
“I mean, even when I get frustrated with umpires, I try to take that down with myself in the dugout. I don’t want to disrespect the game. I just want to play the game.”
The White Sox and Guardians will meet for their final match up of the season on Sunday, August 6 in which that game will be aired on Peacock.
