Jordan Morgan was recently taken by the Green Bay Packers in the 2024 NFL draft, causing a bit of a fervor. A tackle from Arizona with a lot of promise, not many NFL fans were aware of his game or lack thereof.

A crazy fact about the NFL is that the weight of the current year’s draft class is felt immediately. The 2017 and 2018 classes were filled to the brim with offensive talent, and lo and behold the decade ended with some of the best offensive years the league has ever seen.
That matters when talking about any and every draft class and draft pick, as the butterfly effect does have a hold on sports, too. The offensive linemen are on a whole different level, however. While there will always be busts, there are a few guys to be taken that can go down as all-time greats. How does Jordan Morgan rank among the other offensive linemen? Here’s how he matches up.
Joe Alt
It’s hard to see Alt not being picked in the top 5 in any other year, but with how volatile this year’s draft is, he just might end up falling as Penei Sewell did. Just like Sewell, Alt is completely worth it. He can pass block, and run block, and is strong and agile. He’s the total package. Assuming he stays healthy, he’ll be one of the best-blindsided blockers for years to come.
JC Latham
Alabama’s Right Tackle from the last few seasons has been a reliable shutdown blocker. He’s blocked for Bryce Young, helping the 2023 #1 overall pick have the success he had in college. The Titans took some risk choosing him due to his position and the fact he wasn’t supposed to be picked until the 20s, but getting the 2nd best OL in the draft isn’t something to snooze on.
Amarius Mims
Probably the most underrated tackle in this draft, Mims is a versatile tackle who can play anywhere on the line just as well as anybody. He’s slightly raw but would still be a top-15 selection any other year. He fell slightly to the Bengals, where he’ll probably play at Right Tackle across from Orlando Brown Jr.
Jackson Powers-Johnson
The best interior lineman in this draft by a wide margin is this Oregon stud. At 6’3″ he’s a rock of a person and has the potential to be like Tyler Linderbaum or Creed Humphrey.
The Raiders definitely stole him in the 2nd round, and if Brock Bowers hits his ceiling as well, this would definitely go down as one of their best drafts of all time.
Olu Fashanu
Olu Fashanu is a bit overhyped, but still solid all-around. The Penn State alum, where he earned All-American honors, was drafted by the New York Jets with the 10th overall pick, Fashanu is poised to make a big impact on their offensive line for years to come.
Troy Fautanu
Fautanu is a pretty solid tackle who helped keep Penix Jr. upright for their championship run last year. He’s got great size and strength but lacks elite mobility. Maybe he’ll fit in better as a guard? We’ll see what the Steelers do with him.
Graham Barton
The Buccaneers got something of a steal with Barton. Pick a couple of spots later than he was projected, Tampa has definitely needed to beef up the interior part of the line, especially in regards to run blocking. He is dominant in that regard, and good at pass blocking as well.
Zach Frazier
The Pittsburgh Steelers double-dipped with Frazier after getting Fautanu. This is especially interesting considering how good their line was last year. There’s not a lot to complain about with Zach, and he fills a hole for Pittsburgh.
Taliese Fuaga
The Saints reached hard with this pick. Fuaga was initially slated to go in the top 10, but more mock drafts had him going late in the first. He’s not bad but lacks footwork as of right now when it comes to the required agility of an offensive tackle.
Jordan Morgan
The only “problem” with Morgan is that he is a bit of a reach. Note how a lot of people on this list were picked after Jordan, including both Centers taken in the 2nd round.

Jordan Morgan is definitely not bad by any means, being a slightly better run blocker than a pass blocker.
