After going through a pair of losses marring Doc Rivers’ coaching debut, the Milwaukee Bucks got a win over the Dallas Mavericks. As it stands,  Jason Kidd shared that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard were the reasons why the Mavs lost.

The duo of Antetokounmpo and Lillard came up big for Milwaukee, giving Rivers his first win as the team’s head coach. The Greek Freak had a monster game by posting 48 points, six rebounds, 10 assists, and five steals.

Meanwhile, Lillard had 30 points on 90 percent shooting from the field and 100 percent from deep. The All-Star point guard also contributed three rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes.

On the other hand, Luka Doncic had an impressive showing for Dallas by notching 40 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists. Nevertheless, his effort still came up short for the Mavericks, especially since Milwaukee did away with the 25-point lead they built early in the game.

Jason Kidd Reasons Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard as the Culprit to the Dallas Mavericks’ loss to the Milwaukee  Bucks

After the game, Kidd spoke to reporters and gave his reasons why the Mavericks lost. In a pair of tweets by Shawn McFarland on X:

“A tough stretch to end the first half for Dallas:

    – Lillard hit a technical free throw

    – Lillard hit a free throw for a Doncic take foul

    – AJ Green hit a 3-pointer

    – Lillard hit a buzzer-beating three Mavs 65, Bucks 60 at the half.

Milwaukee closed on a 15-0 run,” McFarland wrote.

And if Lillard wasn’t enough, Kidd added Antetokounmpo to the mix, as shown in another tweet by McFarland.

Kidd: “We had the take foul, the T, our composure, we have to be better.”

Said the first half was at a “high” and there was carryover from a good practice yesterday, but:

“When Dame only misses one shot and Giannis goes 20-28, that can put you in a bad way,” McFarland added.

Thanks to Antetokounmpo and Lillard’s strong game, the Bucks are finally back with a win on their record. With this victory, Milwaukee is looking to finish its trip out west on a high note.
