The Milwaukee Bucks played their first game with Doc Rivers as head coach on Monday night on the road against the Denver Nuggets. Milwaukee lost that game on the road to Denver 113-107. With the win for the Nuggets, they improve to 33-15 and the Bucks drop to 32-15 on the season.

Once again, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks in scoring with 29 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal. After the game was over, Antetokounmpo spoke to Jonas Panerio of Sports Illustrated about how the fans need to be patient with Doc Rivers at the helm after firing Adrian Griffin Jr. by saying:
“It speaks volumes. You could tell what he’s built of. He’s tough. It’s hard to take this job. You lose, it feels like the whole world is ending. You win by five, why didn’t you win by 20? You have Giannis, you have Dame, you have Khris (Middleton). It’s hard. Nothing is good enough. Only a championship is good enough. We’ve got to that point, which is crazy.”
The Milwaukee Bucks will be fine moving forward and it is a very long season. The defense needs to improve and the scoring will come in bunches. What was so unfortunate for Milwaukee on Monday night was that they faced one of the best teams in the NBA on the road.
Brook Lopez also scored 19 points for the Bucks and Damian Lillard also added 18 points in this basketball game for Milwaukee. The bench did not have its best outing on Monday night either.
Nikola Jokic Records Another Triple-Double In the Win for the Denver Nuggets Over the Milwaukee Bucks

To no surprise, Jokic is a walking triple-double. He continues to put up great numbers on a night-to-night basis. Nikola Jokic scored 25 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, recorded 12 assists, two blocks, and three steals. He will potentially be one of the three finalists for the NBA MVP Award this season if this continues.

As for Mike Malone’s squad, Jamal Murray led the way for the Nuggets against the Bucks with 35 points and Milwaukee’s defense had no answer for him all night long. Michael Porter Jr. also added 13 points for Denver. These two teams will face each other again on February 12, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
