Jordan Love has brought life to the Green Bay Packers, leading the charge with an explosive offense behind him. After the upset against Kansas City in Week 13, fans and spectators caught a glimpse of his real potential, and, more significantly, how similar his skillset was to Patrick Mahomes on the other side of the field.
This young Packers team has settled in with their starting receiver core, workhorses in the backfield, and a stud at quarterback. Jordan Love is stepping into his role as a franchise player, and his ability to get the ball to his playmakers reminds folks of a certain Superbowl champ out of Kansas City.
Jordan Love Reaches His Mahomes-Like Potential
For the last several years, Patrick Mahomes has dominated the AFC and gives a new definition to impossible playmaking. With sharp eyes down the field and a flick of his wrist, everyone knows how easily he can turn busted plays into touchdowns in a moment’s notice.
Now that he’s synergized with his you receiver squad, Jordan Love is starting to produce the same shock factor fans get when they watch Mahomes chuck the ball downfield. The Kansas City Chiefs blitzed through the offensive line with relentless pursuit on Sunday night, collapsing the pocket and forcing Love to scramble and make hasty decisions on the run. On most of those occasions, however, big number 10 kept his cool and found his targets for huge gains in crucial moments.

Jordan Love demonstrates above how slippery he is even with 4 bloodthirsty defenders closing in around him. On the go, bodies all around him, and facing a lengthy 3rd down, and Love still manages to find Christian Watson in the back of the end zone with a perfect pass right in the numbers.
In his third year in the pros, Jordan Love has made incredible strides to becoming an elite quarterback. His vision downfield, presence in the pocket, and ability to dissect defenses gives him enough merit to compare him to others in his position, specifically Patrick Mahomes. It’s uncanny how similar both quarterbacks play in terms of style and ability. Even Love’s release of the football looks akin to the signature Mahomes side-arm pass.
Though he still has a ways to go to match Mahomes’ standard 4-5,000 yard seasons, Jordan Love’s completion percentage and maturity in the pros sets a solid foundation for his career to thrive. He has a young, talented, and adaptable group of receivers in his offensive unit, just like Mahomes had in his first years in Kansas City. Now that Green Bay has found their stride toward the end of the 2023 season, expect Love to keep up the pace of making miracles out of mishaps.
