After the departure of keystone receiver Davante Adams, the Packers struggled to fill such an outstanding legacy early on in the 2023 season. Christian Watson was the prime suspect to take the bulk of the passes from Jordan Love, but fans were quick to doubt him from his performance in their 2-5 start.
In a crucial game that could decide if the Packers can make the postseason, Christian Watson played lights out, snagging a game-changing touchdown in the back of the end zone against Kansas City’s Joshua Williams. After battling with Chief’s CB Joshua Williams for 12 yards, Watson leapt over the top and secured the score to take a 21-12 lead.
Christian Watson Proves Fans Wrong In Showdown With Chiefs
The Packers have turned their season around prior to the Kansas City game, largely due to the massive performances by explosive players Jordan Love, Jayden Reed, and, of course, Christian Watson. Number 9 has had breakout games against the Chargers and Lions, bringing in 7 catches for 115 yards and a pair of TDs. In the first half of the season, some Packers fans had given up on him entirely, stating that he wasn’t living up to his full potential.

Watson has done everything right in these last few weeks by setting the hate aside and focusing on improving his gameplay. The synergy that seems to have elevated the entire Packers team has spread to Christian and has allowed him to show up for his teammates and take the pressure off other receivers. Jordan Love had no problem connecting with him in Week 13. The Packers will need these links to hold through the end of the regular season if they want to make a deep playoff run.
you look at the last two weeks and christian watson is a completely different player

The Packers are on the hunt for a spot in the postseason coming up in the Winter. With the Vikings on a downward streak and their star players rising to the challenge, this could be the spark Green Bay needs to make a winning season out of a shoddy start.
