It’s unfortunate the Green Bay Packers’ season was ended by the San Francisco 49ers recently. What’s great, though, is how Jordan Love rose to the challenge all season long, making him the franchise’s most improved player for the season.
After the Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets during the last offseason, many were expecting the team to sink in the standings. What surprised a lot of people was Love’s improvement this season and how he has acclimated to the role of being Green Bay’s quarterback so fast.
Of course, Love’s journey hasn’t been perfect at all. One example is during the dying minutes of their game against the 49ers last week. After a missed kick by Anders Carlson gave San Francisco the lead, Love had the chance to win the game for the Packers.
Unfortunately, his wild pass to no one sealed the loss and ended their season. Nevertheless, Love is still young and is about to enter his prime soon, which bodes well for the Packers.
Why Jordan Love is the Green Bay Packers’ Most Improved Player For 2023
In an article by Zoltán Buday for PFF, Love is named as the Packers’ most improved player for this season. Here’s why:
We are making an exception here, as Jordan Love deserves a place on this list despite his lack of playing time prior to 2023. Over the first eight weeks of the season, Love was just the 24th-highest-graded quarterback in the NFL (65.4). However, he earned a 90.7 grade through the remainder of the season, which tied for the second-best mark among quarterbacks over that period.
Love’s leap with the Green Bay Packers this season has been phenomenal. As seen in their recent playoff run, there’s a lot of like about Love’s game in the NFL. For sure, he can only get better in the years to come.
With the offseason about to begin, expect the Packers to add more talent and experience around love via the draft or targeting key free agents. In any case, Love is projected to take another leap when the next season starts.
