Even if the San Francisco 49ers sent the Green Bay Packers home packing in a heartbreaking fashion, the latter’s impressive run this season deserves credit, particularly Jordan Love’s ascension as the team’s quarterback.
As it stands, there have been several personalities that are seeing good things in Love’s future in the NFL, including former NFL quarterback and Hall of Famer Steve Young, New England Patriots’ Matthew Judon, and former Packers’ star Brett Favre.
Although Love was impressive in leading the NFL’s youngest roster this season, there are still some areas in his game that can be improved. Of course, the quarterback’s crucial mistake during their last game against the 49ers can be seen as one of the things he can work on during the offseason.
Nevertheless, Love’s potential for the future is certainly intriguing. One of those who can see that bright future for the young star is no other than his teammate, Elgton Jenkins.
Elgton Jenkins Shares Vote of Confidence in Jordan Love as the Green Bay Packers’ Quarterback
Speaking before the media, Jenkins shares one quality that helps Love stand out above the rest, even if he just played his first full season as the starting quarterback for the Packers.
“You always see the poise. I feel like everybody in the huddle can say that we’re confident in the ability that he’s got. So, moving forward, we’ve got to make sure we keep weapons around him, make sure everybody’s doing their job, and we’ll get it done,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins’ confidence in the young quarterback is warranted. Many expected the Packers to flounder this season after the front office traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. Instead, Love rose to the challenge and made everybody see that things are looking up for Green Bay, especially if he continues his upward trend next season.
