After acquiring a bunch of new pitchers, Jesse Winker, and Abraham Toro earlier this offseason, the Brewers next mission should be to upgrade at catcher.  One potential player to target is Sean Murphy.  Murphy is a member of the Oakland A’s and they are reportedly willing to part ways with their star catcher. The Milwaukee Brewers have been active this offseason.  They have done this under their new leader of baseball operations Matt Arnold.  He has made a few major trades including parting ways with Hunter Renfroe and Kolten Wong.  Despite a few moving pieces, the Brewers have retained a lot of their core players and are currently inline to compete for a playoff spot in 2023.  However, there is one position that they should look to address during the Winter Meetings. Winter Meetings are a fun stretch of days during the MLB offseason.  It is during this time that signings and trades typically occur.  For the Brewers, they already have made two major trades.  This does not mean that they are done making moves. Ahead of the Winter Meetings, MLB Pipeline listed each team’s most tradeable farmhand.  For the Brewers they picked outfielder Joey Wiemer. The Brewers major news this week was trading Kolten Wong to the Mariners.  In return they received Jesse Winker and Abraham Toro.  Shortly after this, Matt Arnold made another transaction.  He improved his minor league depth by signing Eddy Alvarez to a contract.  Alvarez has an incredible story as a dual-sport Olympian in which he has medaled in both the winter and summer Olympics. On Friday afternoon, the Milwaukee Brewers traded Kolten Wong to the Mariners.  They received Jesse Winker and Abraham Toro in return.  Winker was willing to take questions from Brewers media, despite being at someone’s wedding!  In his interview, he had high praises for the Brewers.  He also had good things to say about the fan base and American Family Field. The Milwaukee Brewers have swung two major trades this offseason.  Hunter Renfroe was the first player to be traded.  He is now a Los Angles Angel.  Kolten Wong came second in which he is now a Mariner.  With two key players from last year departing, reports are saying that the Brewers have now removed three players off the trade block.  Those players are Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, and Willy Adames.
