The Milwaukee Brewers and Gary Sanchez have officially agreed to terms regarding a contract for the 2024 season, but it took nearly two weeks for the sides to come together after having to re-negotiate.  An issue during Sanchez’s physical was the hold up and it was related to the same right hand/wrist that caused his 2023 season to end prematurely. Gary Sanchez fractured his wrist last September with the San Diego Padres.  A 98 MPH fastball to the wrist in September of 2023 resulted in a fracture for Gary Sanchez.  This caused his season to end early.  Despite this history…

The Milwaukee Brewers have brought the currently injured Brandon Woodruff back on a guaranteed two year, $17.5 million deal.  There is a mutual option for a third year that would increase the contracts total value to 27.5 million and his deal also features a full no-trade clause.  This appears to be a win-win for both sides as Woodruff gets financial security while rehabbing back from shoulder surgery and Milwaukee gets to retain a homegrown ace for a reasonable price. Brandon Woodruff indicated that he nearly signed with another team. After the deal was made official Brandon Woodruff was made…

The Milwaukee Brewers made the extremely difficult decision last November to non-tender starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff.  Woodruff just recently turned 31 years old but underwent shoulder surgery earlier this winter that may cause him to miss most or all of the 2024 season.  2024 also just so happened to originally be his final year of team control, so Milwaukee elected to cut ties with him rather than pay him an estimated $11.6 million. Brandon Woodruff has agreed to a back loaded deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.   Woodruff’s new contract with the Brewers will span a minimum of two years,…

The Milwaukee Brewers and Gary Sanchez reportedly agreed to a deal on February 7.  All free agent deals are pending physicals and occasionally restructures occur when issues arise.  Until recently the holdup was believed to be related to an issue with his physical, but now a report from Ken Rosenthal has confirmed that suspicion. There was concern regarding the right wrist of Gary Sanchez.   Last September Gary Sanchez took a 98 MPH heater to the right wrist resulting in a fracture.  This prematurely ended his season in which he was a bright spot in a disappointing San Diego Padres season. …
