The Milwaukee Brewers have seen a few different players go on great streaks at the plate this year. William Contreras has been steady all season, but outside of him Blake Perkins had a great stretch at the plate early on, Joey Ortiz has been one of the best hitters in baseball over the last three weeks, and Jake Bauers has also been good during the month of May as well.
For Bauers he started heating up at the plate before Rhys Hoskins injured his hamstring. With Hoskins expected to be sidelined for a few more weeks Bauers is making the most of his playing time and reportedly is finding success due to adopting a Christian Yelich toe tap.
Christian Yelich helped teach Jake Bauers a toe tap.
Per Ken Rosenthal at The Athletic Christian Yelich played the role of hitting coach with Jake Bauers this year and helped him adopt a toe tap. Yelich switched to a toe tap full time around this time last year and has found success. Bauers is now seeing benefits from it as well.

With the New York Yankees Jake Bauers had a subtle leg kick.
2024 is Bauers first season in Milwaukee as he was acquired via trade during the off-season. As a member of the Yankees Bauers utilized a leg kick at the plate. His leg kick wasn’t drastically high, but his lead leg did remain in the air for the vast majority of his swing.
Jake Bauers is seeing success with the toe tap and he has been one of the Milwaukee Brewers hottest hitters.
Prior to Saturday, May 18 Jake Bauers had been slashing .341/.471/.707/1.178 at the plate with four home runs and 15 RBI across his previous 15 games. He recently hit a grand slam utilizing the toe tap that he learned from Christian Yelich. On the season Bauers currently has an .800 OPS across 104 plate appearances.

And yet many fan sites were complaining that he was one of the big disappointments this year.
That would go to Frelick in my opinion, so when G Mitch returns and becomes an All Star, the Crew needs to trade both Frelick and Weimer immediately (while they still have value). I’m fine with Perkins as the 4th.
