Tucker Kraft Could Have A Big Role In 2024
A lacerated kidney kept Luke Musgrave out of six games last season. As a result of his strong performance in training camp and in the preseason, Musgrave gained the starting tight end position. His 34 catches resulted in 352 yards and one touchdown.
Tucker Kraft was selected one round after Musgrave by GM Brian Gutekunst. During training camp, Musgrave won the starting job, but Kraft took over when Musgrave was injured.
The majority of Kraft’s time earlier in the season was spent blocking and very little time as a receiver. Nevertheless, he proved his worth when his chance came later in the season. Two touchdowns and 31 catches for 355 yards capped Kraft’s rookie season.
A key component of Matt LaFleur’s offense is using his tight ends. It wasn’t often that both tight ends were on the field at the same time during the 2023 season. However, that could change in 2024.
