Milwaukee Brewers players were involved in numerous rumors this past off-season. Some, like Corbin Burnes being traded, came to fruition and others, like Willy Adames also being dealt, did not. For one starting pitcher there were indications that he was seeking a contract to play with a Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team. This has been proven to be a false report.
Janson Junk clears the air on a false report indicating that he was seeking to play overseas.
This winter a report from Yakyu Cosmopolitan, a social media page that covers Japanese baseball, indicated that Junk was seeking a contract to play with a Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team. Yakyu Cosmopolitan even went as far to list Junk’s agent as the source of this information. Per Dominic Controneo this report was false.
Janson Junk wants to make it clear: he is not going to Japan, he never initiated contact with Japan, some dude on Twitter made it up across the pacific.

With the Milwaukee Brewers Janson Junk will be competing for a spot in the starting rotation.
2023 was Junk’s first season with Milwaukee in which the right-hander was acquired during the Hunter Renfroe trade with the Los Angeles Angels. He was only given seven innings worth of big league playing time, but in the minor leagues he made 25 starts and had a 4.18 ERA. Junk, Joe Ross, Colin Rea, DL Hall, and Robert Gasser all figure to play a role in the Brewers rotation this season.
