The Milwaukee Brewers have made their first move during trade deadline week.  News came out on Wednesday evening that they are going to acquire INF Eduardo Escobar of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks had been identified as sellers early on in this season when they lost 17 games in a row in June.  They additionally lost a MLB record 24 straight road games.  Escobar had been on many Brewers fans radars since then. Sources: Brewers acquire Eduardo Escobar. — Robert Murray (@ByRobertMurray) July 28, 2021 Escobar has experience all over the infield but does best at the corners.  As a…

The trade deadline is this coming Friday at 3PM CT and rumors are heating up.  The latest rumor has indicated that the Milwaukee Brewers are interested in starting pitcher Kyle Gibson. The Brewers currently possess one of the best trio’s in baseball in Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, and Freddy Peralta.  Adding Gibson to the mix would make this one of the best rotations in baseball. Potential trade partners for Kyle Gibson include the Rays and Brewers, per source. As for Gallo, I don’t have much you’re not hearing elsewhere but can reiterate Blue Jays’ interest. — Levi Weaver (@ThreeTwoEephus) July…

The trade deadline is this coming Friday at 3PM CT and rumors are heating up.  The latest has indicated that the Milwaukee Brewers had been “checking in” on a pair of power bats.  Those names: Josh Donaldson and Trevor Story. This is not the first time the Brewers have expressed interest in Story or Donaldson.  While neither is a first basemen, a clear position that they need to upgrade in, it is possible either one of these players could play out of their normal position. Brewers checked in on Josh Donaldson. Seems like a long shot as he’s high-priced (owed…

The Milwaukee Brewers have assembled one of the best pitching staffs in baseball this season. Not everything came together at once, as a few players had hiccups in seasons prior. However, in 2021, everything seems to be coming to fruition as the pitching staff just set a MLB record for being the first team ever to reach 1,000 strikeouts prior to their 100th game. The Milwaukee Brewers just became the first NL team ever to strike out 1000 batters in fewer than 100 games played. Burnes, Peralta and Woodruff all rank in the top 7 in the NL in K’s.…

The MLB Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching.  With the Brewers in contention to win the division and potentially make a deep playoff run, they will be looking to add pieces to their team.  Often time prospects are traded to help improve the major league ball club. Despite acquiring Rowdy Tellez earlier in July, first base seems to be the biggest area of need for the Brewers.  They also have been rumored to be seeking a bullpen pitcher or two.  In this article I am going to take a look at three prospects who could get traded, or in other words…

The July 30th MLB trade deadline is rapidly approaching and rumors are starting to heat up. Most recently, multiple sources have rumored the Brewers to be seeking at least one bullpen pitcher. Both Ken Rosenthal and Robert Murray have indicated this. Robert Murray of Fansided even went to the lengths in his latest column to include that the Brewers may be adding two bullpen pitchers. Per @Ken_Rosenthal, the #Brewers are going to add to their bullpen ahead of the 2021 Trade Deadline — MLB Trade Deadline (@MLBDeadlineNews) July 21, 2021 Currently, the Brewers bullpen is anchored by closer Josh Hader…

Devin Williams

Injuries have been a story line for the Milwaukee Brewers this year.  Unfortunately that misfortune has followed this team into the post all star break portion of the schedule.  The team announced today that Devin Williams has been placed on the injured list with a pre-cautionary injury. From David Stearns: “Devin reported some elbow soreness following the game yesterday. He felt it while warming up. We had a precautionary MRI done this morning which showed no structural damage. … We do not expect this to be a lengthy absence and are treating this with caution.” — Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) July…

In case you have missed it, the Milwaukee Brewers are the hottest team in baseball.  Their winning streak has reached double digits and seemingly everyone on the team is playing their best baseball.  While all of this is great, how does this impact our views on assessing the teams corner infield needs with the trade deadline approaching? Great record and winning streak side, the Brewers have had to overcome a lot of adversity this season.  The amount of injuries this team has had to overcome is mind boggling.  However, with adversity or injury comes opportunity. Most recently, Luis Urias has…

For months now it has been inevitable that the 7th ranked prospect in the Brewers organization, LHP Aaron Ashby, would be promoted to the big leagues.  The real question was when. Yesterday we got more clarity on that question.  Our friends at Reviewing the Brew along with Jeff Passan were among the first to discuss the reported promotion. Milwaukee is calling up left-hander Aaron Ashby, sources tell ESPN. Very impressive in spring training and has struck out 56 in 38 IP at AAA. Has also issued 24 walks. Expected to work out of the bullpen. Along with Ethan Small, he’s…

Phase one of the All Star selection process is officially over.  I believe that Brewers second basemen Kolten Wong has been snubbed of an all-star appearance. Upon the conclusion of phase one, the top three vote getters at each position advance onto phase two.  Phase two will be a brief four day period to determine the starters for the game. On the National League side, the three second basemen to advance onto phase two this year were: Ozzie Albies, Adam Frazier, and Gavin Lux. Adam Frazier has been named an All-Star finalist at second base in the NL, along with…
