The Milwaukee Brewers indicated last week that Wade Miley had a 50-50 shot at being available to pitch by the start of the season.  A sore shoulder was listed as the issue putting his status in question.  After a week’s time his odds have taken a significant turn. The Milwaukee Brewers announced their round of spring training roster cuts in which five players in total were affected.  To be clear these players have not been cut from the organization.  Rather this is a normal part of spring training where players who are unlikely to be on the big league opening day roster get reassigned to minor league camp. The Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, and Pittsburgh Pirates all had unique off-seasons and made major moves at various points.  For the Cardinals they came out guns blazing in free agency and signed three starting pitchers to contracts.  The pitchers signed were Sonny Gray, Kyle Gibson, and Lance Lynn. The Milwaukee Brewers reportedly may not be done adding free agents.  Despite the calendar currently displaying a date in March and opening day being roughly three and a half weeks away they are quietly scanning the mid-tier pitching market.  This news was announced by MLB Insider Robert Murray on The Baseball Insiders podcast. The Milwaukee Brewers offense broke out against the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Crew won by a score of 10-4.  Six extra base hits helped propel the victory.  Additionally, pitchers like Freddy Peralta, DL Hall, Abner Uribe, and others pitched.
