Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell has had a tough go around with injuries.  Since being drafted in 2020 he’s missed time with several soft tissue and bony pathologies.  During the 2021 season he had a muscle strain in his leg, 2022 an oblique strain, 2023 a subluxation event in his shoulder required surgical treatment, and now before the 2024 regular season has begun he has sustained a hand fracture. Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy revealed that one of his Opening Day roster spots will go to a 31 year old pitcher who has never made an Opening Day roster before.  This pitcher signed a minor league deal with the Crew last year and debuted with the team in September.  He held a 40-man roster spot all winter and now will be in the bullpen on March 28 against the New York Mets. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich has found success batting in the leadoff spot over the past few seasons.  In particular last year he had a bit of a resurgence as overall he slashed .278/.370/.447 with 19 home runs, 76 RBI, and 28 stolen bases. Additionally he served as the leadoff hitter in 123 out of his 144 games played and his 106 runs scored was the 11th best in all of baseball.
