The Milwaukee Brewers top 30 prospect list was recently updated. MLB Pipeline’s rankings did not drastically change when compared to their end of the season rankings, but there are three prospects within the top 15 that are in position to make some major noise in 2024.
Three Milwaukee Brewers prospects in position to make some major noise in 2024.
There are three particular prospects that could make some major headway this season. 10th ranked prospect Cooper Pratt, 14th ranked Yophery Rodriguez, and 15th ranked Josh Knoth are all entering their first full professional seasons (in the United States). Pratt and Knoth were drafted in 2023 and Rodriguez was the team’s top international signee from the January 2023 draft class.
Cooper Pratt and Yophery Rodriguez have some game experience.
Pratt, who is receiving Gunner Henderson comparisons, fell to the Crew in the 6th round last year and Milwaukee went over his slot value to pry him away from Ole Miss University. The 6’4″ righty got his feet wet at the Arizona Complex league last year in which over 45 at-bats he collected 16 hits, had a .870 OPS, and stole four bases.
Rodriguez is a Venezuelan native who played in the Dominican Summer League last year. He got a larger sample size of 178 at-bats in 2023 in which he posted a .253/.393/.449 slash line. Impressively he walked (41) more times than he struck out (40) while also stealing 12 bases.
Josh Knoth is looking to make his professional baseball debut.
Knoth is an 18 year old from New York who Milwaukee selected 33rd overall last year. He didn’t make his professional debut in 2023 and he has the potential to significantly improve upon his prospect stock this year. The righty has elite spin rates and scouts have compared his delivery to the likes of Lance McCullers.
