The Wisconsin volleyball team has suffered their second loss of the season after dropping to #15 Penn State, 3-1, this past Saturday.
Wisconsin entered their game against the Penn State Nittany Lions as the second-ranked program in collegiate volleyball. The Badgers battled against Penn State and narrowly lost to the Nittany Lions as the team made the most of their kill opportunities. Wisconsin will now focus on their next match against the Purdue Boilermakers on November 17th.
Wisconsin Volleyball Drops Game Against Nittany Lions, Shifts Focus Towards Purdue Boilermakers

Wisconsin started off their match against the Nittany Lions with a back and forth battle during the first set. Wisconsin finished the set on a 3-0 run to take it, 25-22, for a 1-0 match lead. The Wisconsin volleyball team struggled in the second set however, losing 18-24 at one point, before coming back to tie the score at 24.
The Badgers fought hard, but ultimately lost the set as Penn State won 29-27 to tie the match, 1-1. The Nittany Lions commanded the majority of the third set before a series of lead changes at the end. The Badgers dropped the set to Penn State, 25-23, to give the Nittany Lions a 2-1 match lead.

Wisconsin volleyball got off to a rough start in the fourth set and never quite recovered as the Nittany Lions walked away with the win. Penn State took the final set and the match with a score of 25-18 as the Badgers struggled to find any answers for the Nittany Lions.
Senior Sarah Franklin led the Badgers with 19 kills and Junior Julia Orzol added 11 kills as well. Wisconsin volleyball shot .176 from the floor on the night and struggled to make the most of their kill opportunities. Penn State, on the other hand, shot .238 on the night and closed out the final set shooting .400.
Wisconsin Badgers Volleyball Look-Ahead: Purdue Boilermakers

The Wisconsin volleyball team must take what they can from their loss to Penn State and use it in their next match against the #16 Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue is fresh off a 3-1 victory over Michigan State, and will now host the visiting Wisconsin volleyball for what should be an entertaining match. Previously when these two teams met, Wisconsin walked away with the 3-1 win over the Boilermakers.
