Wisconsin football is still processing their loss to the Northwestern Wildcats this past weekend, but the players and staff alike are certainly upset.
Starting quarterback Tanner Mordecai spoke to the media following a recent practice, and the veteran was critical of the performance of his team. Mordecai finished the game with 255 yards through the air as the Badgers recorded their fifth loss of the season. Wisconsin football is currently on a three-game losing streak with losses to Ohio State, Indiana, and Northwestern.
Wisconsin Football Searching for Answers, Responsibility Following Crucial Losses

The Wisconsin football team entered their game against the Northwestern Wildcats needing one more win to become bowl eligible. The Wildcats have shown flashes of production this season offensively, but in total, Wisconsin was expected to beat Northwestern. Instead, Wisconsin struggled to muster much of anything on the offensive side.
Against the Wildcats, Wisconsin punted the ball five times and turned the ball over twice as well. Throughout the game the Badgers could not establish the run game as they had 86 total rushing yards, with 32 yards coming on two particular rushes.

While Wisconsin struggled to run the ball, they also struggled to connect on any sort of deep pass. Drops were once again a thorn in the side of Wisconsin football as the Badgers dropped three crucial passes that would have resulted in first downs.
Quarterback Tanner Mordecai was under consistent pressure against the Wildcats, which caused plenty of plays to go into disarray. Following the game, Safety Hunter Wohler was critical of the effort and physicality displayed by the Badgers. Now following their recent practice, Mordecai appears to be on the same page as Wohler.
The leader of the Wisconsin football team was asked about his thoughts following the 24-10 loss to the Northwestern Wildcats during practice. Mordecai responded by stating, “There is a lot of should’ve, could’ve, and would’ve when you don’t play the way you wanted to.”
Mordecai only had four of his first forty passing attempts of the game travel 10 or more yards through the air. The veteran looked visibly upset while fielding questions from the media. Mordecai stopped the reporter while he was being asked a question following the reporter stating his fourth quarter touchdown was ‘Garbage time’.
Can Wisconsin Badgers Football Make a Bowl Appearance this Season?

Following their play against the Wildcats, it is hard to foresee Wisconsin football making it to a bowl game this season. Wisconsin needs to win one of their final two games against Nebraska and Minnesota. However, the Badgers have played so poorly lately it could be quite the difficult task.
The Badgers need to get back onto the same page to be able to put together competitive, entertaining football games. Even if Wisconsin is able to win and make it to a bowl game, it could be a rather ugly game.
