At this point, the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t only in danger of not having Giannis Antetokounmpo again for Friday’s Game 3 matchup against the Indiana Pacers. As it turns out, they could be without Khris Middleton as well now that the 32-year-old has joined Antetokounmpo on the injury report.
The Bucks have officially listed Middleton as questionable to play on Friday due to a right ankle sprain, which will obviously have a significant impact on how the Bucks will come out in Game 3 after the Pacers tied the series at 1-1 after their blowout win in Game 2 in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Doc Rivers’ Ominous Update on Khris Middleton
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers spoke to reporters after Thursday’s practice, and it was at this point that the one-time NBA champion shot-caller revealed that Middleton was unable to take part in the practice session. The three-time All-Star suffered the ankle injury in Game 2 on Tuesday, and it has now been deemed significant enough for Milwaukee to list him as questionable to play on Friday.
Rivers admitted that there is a certain level of concern on the Middleton front and that at this point, the Bucks have no other choice but to hope that their 6-foot-7 swingman is somehow able to overcome the knock before Friday’s contest:
“Yeah, there’s a little for sure,” Rivers said on his level of concern for Middleton, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “It’s another holding our breath situation. So, honestly, I don’t know.”
The Bucks are still holding out hope that Antetokounmpo will be able to be ready for Game 3, and now they’ve been placed in the same undesirable situation with Middleton.
It goes without saying that not having two of their best players available for Friday’s crucial showdown puts the Bucks at a real disadvantage.
