The Wisconsin Badgers (4-2, 2-1) lost to their BIG Ten rival the Iowa Hawkeyes (6-1, 3-1) this past Saturday by a score of 15-6. The weather did not play much of a factor besides the cold temperatures. Not much was able to get going on offense for the Badgers, who only scored two field goals by kicker Nathanial Vakos.
The bad news for the Wisconsin Badgers is that quarterback Tanner Mordecai will be out for the rest of the season with a broken hand. He suffered the injury late in the second quarter.
According to Pete Thamel, the Wisconsin Badgers signal caller will be out for the immediate future.

Tanner Mordecai suffered the injury after throwing a pass. After his follow-through, he hit linebacker Jay Higgins’s helmet. The Wisconsin Badgers quarterback did not return to the game.
Before exiting the game against Iowa, Tanner Mordecai went 12-20 for 106 yards. They were unable to put up any points in the first half.
Badgers’ Offense Against Iowa
Wisconsin could not get anything going on offense at home against Iowa. They only scored six points in the third quarter. This was not enough, as the Badgers like to rely on the run game to score points in most cases, along with the passing attack.
Running back Braelon Allen had 18 carries for 87 with no touchdowns. It was mainly a defensive game for both teams at Camp Randall on Saturday. Offenses were non-existent in the cold temperatures during the BIG battle.
Wisconsin Offense Moving Forward
For the Wisconsin Badgers moving forward, they will be starting redshirt freshman Braedyn Locke, who transferred from Mississippi State. He went 15-30 for 122 yards and one interception for the rest of the game. It will be a definite change with a young guy under center for the Badgers as the season moves on.
The running game may be even more of an emphasis now with the inexperienced quarterback.
The Badgers are looking for a bounce-back win after losing to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the annual Heartland trophy game. Wisconsin will face the Illinois Fighting Illini on the road next Saturday. Kick-off is set for 3:30 pm ET on FS1.
