Following a recent Wisconsin football camp, a 2025 athlete has set his sights on earning a coveted preferred walk-on position.

Chase Young, a 2025 quarterback and tight end from Minnesota, has not received the Division-I attention he had dreamed of. However, the recruit has not let that stop him, as he continues to improve his skills in hopes of making it to a top program. While he states he is grateful for any type of offer, Young is after a particular program that has “all I can ask for”.

While some players may set their sights on earning as many offers as possible, one particular 2025 recruit is looking to earn one specific offer. 2025 St. Thomas Academy quarterback and tight end Chase Young, a Minnesota native, has been intrigued by the Wisconsin football program for some time. The recruit has been in attendance for multiple camps this summer, and has shown flashes in front of the Wisconsin football staff.

For Young, the next goal following his great camps is to earn a preferred walk-on position with the Badgers. Currently, Wisconsin has their scholarships in the 2025 class dwindling given the recent spurt of commitments. However, there still could be a preferred walk-on offer on the table for Young with the right improvements.

Often times when being recruited some of the athletes forget what they truly wanted or needed in the school outside of the football program. In the case of Young, choosing a collegiate program has been about finding just as much of a fit off the field as he can on the field.

Young stated, “My biggest priority for a program is that it is a school I would go to with or without football.” In particular, Young has put a focus on the class room as the majority of programs he has kept close contact with are Ivy League programs. The athlete stated, “Whether it be the Ivy’s or Madison, those schools certainly check the box for academics.”

For Young, Wisconsin football and Madison is everything that he could ask for in a football program and a college. While Young has set his sights on playing Division-I football in general, he stated, “Madison is everything I’m looking for and would be a dream come true to play at even if it was just a PWO offer.”

Young also stated, “Right now Madison is definitely where I would be most interested in attending and hopefully playing.” The offer may not be on the table yet, but Young hopes to impress the Wisconsin football staff enough to earn a preferred walk-on offer.
