Packers fans saw no trades at the deadline
Breaking notifications on trades before Tuesday’s afternoon deadline were popping up like the finale of a fireworks show. It was a crazy afternoon as blockbuster moves were made all over the league. Two significant moves were made in the NFC North, as the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears added a tight end and wide receiver to their roster. Packers fans wanting a wide receiver to come in and save the short-handed bunch were left disappointed.
The Packers are dealing with several injuries at wide receiver. With the Packers on the edge of desperation with a 3-5 record, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was almost begging for help Tuesday afternoon. Packers president Mark Murphy told a fan on Sunday Night Football they’d see a move Tuesday. However, at 4 pm EST, no action had been taken.
Fans were furious after they saw the Bears land Chase Claypool
Missing out on a trade is one thing. The Packers have had quiet trade periods before. This one was especially dramatic as their rival, the Bears, swooped wide receiver Chase Claypool who had been in the headlines as a perfect match for the Packers. Following the move and the end of the deadline, Packers fans Tweeted what they thought of the job the team’s brass had done. Here are some of the best reactions:

Packers should have drafted Claypool the year that they drafted Jordan Love. They did not. They could have traded for him today. They did not. pic.twitter.com/bWdNZxEHaJ

This is what a NFL team is when your head office is more like public service with affirmative action, no accountability, no drive for excellence. Mediocre performance. And, only a Championship if the stars are aligned. When LaFluer stated that there was no change for the defense coordinator and his facial expressions he has after the losses, it makes me think Joe Barry has some less than flattering images on LaFluer. Stockholder stuck in losersville.
I’m so sick of the Packers G.M.’s not getting help for Rodgers & Favre. Both of them should have 2 more like 3 or more Super Bowl wins!!! But Thompson & now Guety would rather sit with their arms (not thumbs) up their butts instead of making a trade(s).They don’t need 10-12 draft picks every year, they’ve really only need 5 or 6 players! Who if they would trade up in the draft would be day one starters, sure pro bowl caliber players. When they draft 10-12 players every year only 4-6 make the team, best case scenario they actually make it through their 1st year, several get cut when they have to get down to 53 players & (practice squad players) so WHY DON’T THEY WAKE THE HELL UP & TRADE UP IN THE DRAFT,TRADE FOR POSITION NEEDED PLAYERS,SIGN FREE AGENTS that will help win a Super Bowl or Several! The one time Terrible Ted Thompson traded back into the 1st rd af4ter taking B.J. Raji at #10 in the 1st rd (if i remember correctly?) was trading to get Clay Matthews! And what happened???
They won the Super Bowl that year or the next Everyone always complaining Favre was waffling! He wasn’t waffling he was waiting to see if Terrible Ted was going to get him (Favre) any help? And he never did well the one move which was Awesome was Charles Woodson! But needed a few more (on offense) and they could’ve had Randy Moss,Tony Gonzales both wanted to play with Favre and were willing to come to G.B. but Noooo Ted wasn’t going to a 3rd rd pick for Gonzales (absolutely stupid of him) & Moss was a free agent. But because he mooned the crowd in that playoff game he wouldn’t do that (Even dumber) look what Moss & Brady did! Moss had 25 T.d.’s that year, but they (Patriots) lost the Super Bowl to the Giants. The Packers would’ve been UNSTOPPABLE offensively adding those 2 players to what they had already! Jennings,Jones,Driver,Jordy Nelson,Ruvell Martin,Jermichael Finley,Donald Lee (T.E.) our R.B.’s that would’ve been a Super Bowl or two with that roster. You can’t get to the promise land thru the draft alone, which Ted was slow to learn! Whoever their talent evaluator is should be fired!!! Trade the BEST W.R. in the game for a 2nd rd pick! But the Bears get Claypool from Pittsburgh for a 2nd rd pick. Minnesota gave s 2nd & 3rd rd pick for T.J. Hopkinton! G.B. should’ve got 2 1st rd picks for D. Adams, least a 1st & 2nd,worst-case scenario a 1st & 3rd. I can’t wait to hear what they were offering for Claypool! What if anything they offered for Brandin Cooks! If they even tried to get Moore from Carolina, J. Jeudy from Denver, the guy from the Jets,or Chenault from Jacksonville.I would be hounding Seattle for D.K. Metcalf. I would be offering a 1st & 2nd if need be,I would seriously consider two 1st rd picks for somebody like him. Look what Atlanta gave to draft Julio Jones, and the numbers he put up for several years! If you want talent like that that puts you over the top you’ve got to give whatever it takes,if you want to win,win it all anyways! Packers brass seem happy just making the playoffs every year! Otherwise they wouldn’t be wasting the careers of 2 of the top Q.B.’s to ever play the game.Quit drafting 10-12 players every year, start trading up,and trading for player’s that will help you win titles. Instead of trying to develop late rd picks,by the time they’re good enough to play, beat coverage, the other good players are gone, hurt,or washed up! Or they get cut at the end of camp,or the next year when you draft too many player’s again. Do everyone a favor (true Packers fans anyway) and call Ron Wolf and ask for his philosophy, at least for some advice!
